คะแนนสอบที่ได้ คือ 110 แบ่งเป็น
reading = 30, listening = 30, speaking = 22, writing = 28
เย้ๆๆๆ ตามเป้าหมายที่ตั้งไว้เลยค่ะ ดีใจสุดๆ
1. เริ่มจากหนังสือที่ใช้ก่อนเลยนะคะ
- ETS’s The Official Guide to the TOEFL Test (MUST HAVE)
หนังสือเล่มนี้ดีมาก ตรงที่ทำให้เราเข้าใจว่าทางETS ให้คะแนนยังไงค่ะ โดยเฉพาะในส่วนของspeaking ซึ่งเค้าจะมีคำตอบของคนที่เคยสอบจริงๆมาให้เราฟัง แล้วบอกเลยว่าตอบแบบนี้ ได้คะแนนสูง กลาง หรือว่าต่ำเพราะอะไร ทำให้เรารู้ว่าอะไรคือสิ่งสำคัญค่ะ
- ETS’s Official TOEFL iBT Test (MUST HAVE)
หนังสือเล่มนี้จะรวมข้อสอบจริง 5 ชุด มาใหเราลองฝึกทำค่ะ โดยส่วนตัวคิดว่า ข้อสอบของหนังสือเล่มอื่นๆก็มี แต่ิอันนี้คืออันที่เหมือนจริงที่สุด พวกความยาวและความยากของpassage, conversation/lectureที่ให้เราฟัง, และลักษณะคำถามค่ะ พอทำเล่มนี้แล้ว ไปเปิดทำเล่มอื่น รู้สึกเหมือน"มันไม่ใช่" ประมาณนี้เลยค่ะ 555
- Barron's TOEFL iBT (RECOMMENDED)
หนังสือเล่มนี้เป็นเล่มแรกที่ซื้อเลยค่ะ เพราะฉะนั้น ตัวจขกท.เอง เรียนรู้ข้อสอบโทเฟลจากเล่มนี้เลยค่ะ หนังสือของBarronเป็นหนังสือที่อธิบายดีค่ะ ทำให้เราเข้าใจง่าย เฉลยนี่ดีมาก รู้ซึ้งเลยว่าทำไมเราถึงตอบผิด ส่วนtrickการทำข้อสอบก็ถือว่าดีเลยค่ะ
- Barron's Essential Words for the TOEFL (MUST HAVE)
หนังสือเล่มนี้จะรวมคำศัพท์ที่จำเป็น ในการทำข้อสอบส่วนreadingค่ะ ตัวจขกท.ท่องศัพท์จากเล่มนี้เล่มเดียวเลยค่ะ ขอบอกว่าตรงค่ะ ตอนที่ไปสอบนั้น มีไม่ตรงแค่คำเดียวเองค่ะ รู้สึกดีมากที่ท่องไป นอกจากทำให้เราตอบคำถามถูกแล้ว ยังช่วยลดเวลาการทำข้อสอบแนวvocabนี้ไปได้ด้วยค่ะ เพราะพออ่านโจทย์ปุ๊บ ตอบได้เลยทันที ไม่ต้องมานั่งหาความหมายจากประโยคข้างๆ
- Baron's Writing for the TOEFL iBT (RECOMMENDED)
หนังสือเล่มนี้ จะยกตัวอย่างหัวข้อessayและตัวอย่างคำตอบไว้เยอะมากเลยค่ะ รู้สึกว่าจะปรมาณ 500 กว่าหัวข้อได้ หนังสือเล่มนี้มีประโยชน์ต่อจขกท.มาก เพราะปัญหาในการเขียนของจขกท.คือ คิดเหตุผลที่จะมาสนับสนุนความคิดเราไม่ค่อยออก หนังสือเล่มนี้ ช่วยguideเหตุผลได้ดีพอสมควรเลยค่ะ แต่แนวการเขียนนั้น ห้ามเลียนแบบนะคะ คือถ้ายกคำตอบในหนังสือเล่มนี้ ไปตอบในข้อสอบจริง จะต้องได้คะแนนน้อยแน่ๆเลยค่ะ เพราะเหตุผลไม่specificพอ เดี๋ยวเราจะมาว่าเรื่องนี้กันต่อในหัวข้อ "วิธีเตรียมตัวสอบ" ถัดไปนะ
- Princeton Review's Cracking the TOEFL iBT (NOT RECOMMENDED)
โดยส่วนตัว ไม่ชอบหนังสือเล่มนี้เลยค่ะ คือแทบไม่เปิดอ่านเลย แบบฝึกหัดเค้า เหมือนจะไม่ค่อยเป็นประโยชน์ต่อจขกท.สักเท่าไหร่ ไม่ชอบแนวการเรียบเรียงและการสอนแบบนี้ค่ะ เช่น
part reading ให้เรามาหาว่า topic, main idea, conclusion ของpassageนั้น คืออะไร
part speaking สอนให้พูดintroก่อน ให้หัวข้อมา 5-6 อัน แล้วคิดแต่intro
บทถัดมาสอนพูดbody ให้หัวข้อเดิมค่ะ แล้วคิดแต่body
บทถัดมาสอนพูดconclusion ให้หัวข้อเดิมค่ะ แล้วคิดแต่body
part writing ตรงintegrated task ไม่ชอบtemplateเลยค่ะ อ่านแล้ว งง เอง เลยไม่ใช้ตามค่ะ
หมายเหตุ:
MUST HAVE คือ ไม่มีหนังสือค่ายไหนเทียบเทียมได้ ต้องซื้อค่ะ
RECOMMENDED คือ ค่ายอื่นก็อาจจะดีพอๆกัน ซึ่งไม่รู้ค่ะ แต่ส่วนตัวชอบค่ะ
NOT RECOMMENDED คือ ไม่ชอบค่ะ ไม่เป็นประโยชน์กับตัวจขกท.เลย
ไว้ค่อยมาต่อ หัวข้อถัดไป "วิธีเตรียมตัวสอบ" และ "รีวิวคอร์สเรียนที่Princeton Review" นะคะ สู้ๆค่ะ
